Why Cornwall?

Cornwall is such a special place, in so many ways, to so many people. Everyone’s Cornwall is as exceptional as they are: we all respond in a completely unique way to the diverse, ever changing landscapes and cultural landmarks.

Cornwall offers romance and nostalgia – think Poldark, Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca and Jamaica Inn. Also on offer is the more contemporary thriving foodie culture with Jamie Oliver’s 15 restaurant at the dramatic Watergate Bay, Rick Steins Seafood restaurant at Padstow, numerous harbourside food and fish festivals together with a vibrant music and festival scene. Cornwall is the backdrop to many popular films and TV series, Doc Martin, Saving Grace, and James Bond each showcasing the vivid and diverse landscapes of the Duchy. The scenery is ever-changing,encompassing coast to moor, woodland to shore, to dramatic cliffs, hidden harbours, secret coves and stormy seas, all this in addition to vivid farmland alongside imposing industrial heritage and mining. Cornwall is a land of mystery, intrigue and legend, King Arthur, the Mermaid of Zennor, Giants on Bodmin Moor and St Michael’s Mount, folk traditions and the Cornish are now to be recognised as a national minority group we already have our own cultural organisation – the Gorseth. We’ve got it all in Cornwall!

There are places that inspire us and make us who we are, places close to home and far away…..where is your place of inspiration? Kernow…Land to dream of, land of mystery and surprise… It makes it the ideal place for your special ceremony.

PS we also quite like Devon and we are happy to hop over the Border!
